Today's passage continues in Isaiah Chapter 7 verses 12 - 16
12 But Ahaz said, “I will not ask; I will not put the LORD to the test.”
13 Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you[c] a sign: The virgin[d] will conceive and give birth to a son, and[e] will call him Immanuel.[f] 15 He will be eating curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, 16 for before the boy knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste.
As I read today's Scripture into Tuesday's, I think how often I have tested the Lord. How ofter I have Rejected the right and chosen the wrong and I am humbled to realize that I am forgiven and I am loved.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me try harder and harder to get it right, to see the light, to open my eyes to His will and his plan for me.
The Magnificat - Mary's song - stirs my soul.
How quickly we judge young, unwed mothers, but Mary simply said yes. Yes, Lord, It will be as you say. What an inspiration those words are to me - the cornerstone for me as this year, we walk together preparing the way for the Lord, God Almighty.
My prayer, Lord, help me to say yes, more often.
